Infusion set: Intrafix © Air P

Infusion duration: 30-45 minutes

Therapy interval: 1x per week, based on the patient's health status

Duration of treatment: 6 weeks, based on the patient's health status

Storage: 15 – 25°C

Shelf life: 1 year after manufacture

Side effects: A high L-arginine level can favor the reactivation of herpes simplex viruses in the presence of low L-lysine supply. Due to increased NO formation under L-arginine, platelet aggregation can be inhibited, which potentially leads to a slight prolongation of the bleeding time. Existing hypotension can be exacerbated. Therefore, blood pressure measurement is recommended before infusion and the volume of the carrier solution should be increased to 500 ml.

THERAPY RECOMMENDATION

Positive Effects:

  • L-Arginine is a semi-essential amino acid, but many studies show L-Arginine to be indispensable. L-Arginine serves as a protein building block.
  • L-Arginine is the only precursor of endothelial nitric oxide synthase (eNOS). NO production causes vasodilation.
  • L-Arginine induces iNOS in immune system cells. Here, NO has a cytotoxic effect and serves to defend against bacteria.
  • L-Arginine is the precursor of neuronal NOS (nNOS) and induces the secretion of glutamate.
  • L-Arginine activates mitochondrial NOS.
  • L-Arginine, as a precursor of nitric oxide (NO), has a dichotomous effect on cancer cells. NO is associated with the pathogenesis of various types of tumors. It acts either as an enhancer or as an inhibitor of cancer development.
  • L-Arginine is a precursor of creatine, ornithine, and citrulline.
  • Creatine is composed of L-arginine, L-methionine, and glycine.

Therapy recommendations: There is evidence that the properties of the substances contained in the product can have a positive effect on health disorders of the mentioned indications:

  • in cases of NO deficiency, L-arginine deficiency
  • in cases of vasoconstriction, vascular diseases, and circulatory disorders (arteriosclerosis, sudden hearing loss); NO promotes blood circulation and reduces platelet aggregation
  • in cases of elevated ADMA plasma levels and endothelial dysfunctions
  • in cases of high blood pressure
  • in cases of type 2 diabetes mellitus and insulin resistance; L-arginine promotes insulin release; glycogen synthesis
  • in cases of acute and chronic infections by stimulating T-lymphocyte formation, boosts TH1 response
  • in pain therapy by increasing the body's own pain-relieving
  • peptide Kyotorphin (Tyrosinyl-arginine), analgesic
  • Sport: anabolic effect, increased secretion of STH, and increased fat breakdown (lipolysis)
  • improved wound healing in injuries and burns
  • for the treatment of erectile dysfunction
  • in neurodegeneration: Ammonia breakdown in the urea cycle is promoted

Contraindications:Do not use in children under 6 years of age. In cases of impaired kidney, liver, or heart function and albumin deficiency, an adjustment of the individual dose is recommended. Patients taking beta-blockers have an increased risk of decompensated cardiovascular reaction, as beta-blockers inhibit the effect of adrenaline (emergency medical treatment). Patients with a tendency to allergic reactions and/or diseases based on histamine release (e.g., asthma) should be asked about known allergens in accordance with the principles of therapeutic due diligence.

Contraindications:pathologically increased iNO concentrations, which cause an increase in oxidative and nitrosative cell stress.

Note for doctors and therapists: Generally, for individual prescriptions, the doctor/therapist determines the indication. The suggestion is merely a recommendation for a therapy option, with the dosage and frequency of application being solely at the discretion of the doctor/therapist. The treating therapist is responsible for the treatment and must individually review and assess the respective application for each patient before starting treatment.
