THERAPY RECOMMENDATION

Positive Effects:

  • 5g Vitamin C infusion has an antioxidant effect.
  • Vitamin C is an essential micronutrient for humans.
  • Vitamin C is sensitive to oxidation and can be destroyed by improper heat, light, or alkaline media.
  • Antioxidant: Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant; it recycles vitamin E and regenerates glutathione. Oxidative protection of lipids, cell membranes, proteins, and nucleic acids by reducing free radicals. Latent vitamin C deficiency is common and asymptomatic; vitamin C is a co-factor in many reactions. This determines its diverse applications.
  • During acute infections, burns, surgeries, inflammations of all kinds, silent inflammation, oxidative and nitrosative stress, emotional stress such as grief, and pain, the body's consumption of vitamin C increases sharply.

Therapy recommendations:There are indications that the properties of the substances contained in the product may have a positive effect on health disorders of the mentioned indications:

  • for prescorbutic conditions
  • for methemoglobinemia
  • antioxidant therapy
  • anti-inflammatory therapy
  • Immune system: strengthening cellular and humoral defense in acute or chronic infections
  • Long Covid: convalescence after severe infections
  • Exhaustion: supportive in all diseases associated with exhaustion and fatigue, including CFS, FMS
  • for brain fog in combination with reduced glutathione (see there)
  • Oncology: convalescence after chemotherapy
  • in pain therapy alternating with alkaline infusions
  • Cardiovascular diseases: increased NO bioavailability (antithrombotic, blood pressure lowering)
  • for elevated blood lipid levels, cholesterol is lowered, HDL is increased
  • for cardiac arrhythmias and chest pain
  • Arteriosclerosis: Focal local scurvy can occur and become chronic in the coronary artery wall, among other places; the cause of this is oral pathogens from periodontitis, gingivitis, or bacteria from the root canal that spread into the bloodstream, cause inflammation, and locally lead to a vitamin C deficiency, consequently leading to arteriosclerosis, which can trigger a heart attack in the coronary arteries.
  • Collagen synthesis: Vitamin C is a co-factor for connective tissue formation
  • Osteoarthritis therapy: The maturation and stability of cartilage are supported
  • Wound healing: promoted in injuries, surgeries, and burns
  • Dentistry: Periodontitis and gingivitis are reduced
  • Osteoporosis: Bone fractures can be caused by a local vitamin C deficiency
  • Iron metabolism: improved iron utilization
  • for bronchial asthma and allergy, histamine metabolism: promotion of histamine breakdown, mast cell stabilization
  • Adrenal gland: support for the biosynthesis of glucocorticoids
  • Neuropeptide hormones: The formation of adrenaline and noradrenaline requires vitamin C
  • Diabetes mellitus: Glucose and fat metabolism are positively influenced
  • for glaucoma: Vitamin C can lower intraocular pressure and reduce the risk of cataracts
  • Detoxification: Toxins from food and the environment can be broken down and mobilized under vitamin C; for this reason, the detoxification organs should be supported

Contraindications:Do not use in children under 6 years of age. For impaired kidney, liver, or heart function and albumin deficiency, an adjustment of the individual dose is recommended. Patients taking beta-blockers have an increased risk of a decompensated cardiovascular reaction because beta-blockers inhibit the effect of adrenaline (emergency medical treatment). Patients with a tendency to allergic reactions and/or with diseases based on histamine release (e.g., asthma) should be asked about known allergens according to the principles of therapeutic due diligence.

Contraindications:Thalassemia, hemochromatosis. High-dose vitamin C infusion can promote the release of iron from the body's stores. G6PDH deficiency can lead to acute hemolytic anemia, which is caused by the destruction of red blood cells. Laboratory parameters must be checked. There should be no history of asthma.

Note for doctors and therapists:For individual prescriptions, the doctor/therapist generally determines the indication. The suggestion is merely a recommendation for a therapy option, with the dosage and frequency of application being solely at the discretion of the doctor/therapist. The treating therapist is responsible for the treatment and must individually review and assess the respective application for each patient before starting treatment.
