THERAPY RECOMMENDATION

Positive Effects:

  • Zentra-Injekt contains the basic minerals magnesium, calcium, and potassium. 98% of the potassium cation is located inside the cell.
  • Every cell needs potassium to be metabolically active.
  • Magnesium improves cellular potassium utilization.
  • This means sodium reduction and simultaneous increase in potassium intake.
  • Magnesium: see monoinfusion
  • Calcium regulates muscle contraction (antagonist to magnesium).
  • Calcium is involved in neurotransmission in the nervous system through calcium channel-dependent release of neurotransmitters.
  • Calcium activates the blood coagulation system.
  • Calcium stabilizes cell membranes.

Therapy Recommendations:There is evidence that the properties of the substances contained in the product can have a positive effect on health disorders of the mentioned indications:

  • for electrolyte deficiencies
  • for latent acidosis and inflammatory processes
  • blood pressure regulation, hypertension, cardiac arrhythmias, stroke prevention
  • for oxidative or nitrosative stress: NADPH oxidase is inhibited, ROS formation is inhibited, intracellular calcium is reduced
  • for type 2 diabetes mellitus, insulin resistance: insulin sensitivity is increased
  • for deficiencies in energy metabolism (exhaustion, chronic fatigue, CFS, muscle weakness)
  • for menopausal symptoms, PMS and restlessness
  • in pain therapy, including migraine, analgesic
  • for rheumatoid arthritis

Contraindications:Do not use in children under 6 years of age. For impaired kidney, liver, heart function and albumin deficiency, an adjustment of the individual dose is recommended.

Patients taking beta-blockers have an increased risk of a decompensated cardiovascular reaction, as beta-blockers inhibit the effect of adrenaline (emergency medical treatment).

Patients with a tendency to allergic reactions and/or with diseases based on histamine release (e.g., asthma) should be questioned about known allergens according to the principles of therapeutic diligence.

General Information:

  • A good potassium level depends on sodium and magnesium intake. Magnesium improves cellular potassium utilization.
  • The American Heart Association recommends a daily dose of 4.7 g
potassium+ per day and only 1.5 g sodium. The molar sodium-potassium ratio should be < 1. This means sodium reduction and simultaneously increased potassium intake.
  • Acidosis leads to a potassium shift from intra- to extracellular. Consequences include neuromuscular dysfunction, states of exhaustion, muscle weakness, muscle cramps, paresthesias, and cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Calcium is essential for the mineralization of bone tissue and hard tooth substance. Calcium status is regulated by three hormones: 1,25-(OH)2-cholecalciferol (calcitriol), parathyroid hormone, and calcitonin.
  • The widespread undersupply of calcium and magnesium in the population leads to an increased conversion of calcidiol (25-OH-vitamin D) into calcitriol (1,25-OH-vitamin D3) with a rise in parathyroid hormone (PTH). The resulting shift in balance towards calcitriol is shown in laboratory findings as an increase in the vitamin D quotient (normal < 1). In addition to demineralization of the bone, the excessively formed calcitriol increases the influx of calcium into the cells. This leads to proinflammatory and prooxidative changes in cellular metabolism, such as an increase in cytokine expression and increased formation of reactive oxygen species (radicals). The intracellular calcium influx is accompanied by an outflow of potassium and magnesium. This loss of intracellular potassium and magnesium intensifies the prooxidative effect of calcitriol. D3 Alone Is Not Enough. OM & Ernährung 2014; 148: 2–11.
  • Oxidative stress and proinflammatory processes block detoxification pathways, leading to an increase in toxins and detoxification metabolites and, consequently, again to oxidative stress, and can causally lead to degenerative diseases.
